What is Reiki?

Reiki is a Japanese energy channeling technique used to promote physical, mental and spiritual well-being. Reiki therapy sessions work to balance the flow of one’s energy to remove blocks in a similar way to acupuncture or acupressure. When one is sick or stressed, energy is often blocked or depleted. Improving the flow of energy around the body can enable relaxation, reduce pain, and promote healing. As Reiki treats the whole being including body, mind and spirit, it can create many beneficial effects that include feelings of peace, empowerment and an enhanced spiritual connection.   The whole person is addressed,  not just the symptoms.

Below are a few common reasons where someone might seek Reiki therapy:

  • for stress reduction and relaxation
  • to relieve pain, anxiety and fatigue
  • to assist the body to recovery from injuries or a surgical procedure
  • to balance energy and release energy blockages
  • to provide supporting treatment for a long-term illness or condition
  • help in adjusting to medicine/treatments
  • to assist in bringing about inner peace and harmony
  • providing some relief during emotional distress and sorrow
  • when questing for spiritual growth or guidance
  • to enhance learning, memory and mental clarity
  • to help you break from unhealthy attachments  or habits
  • to boost creativity
  • to decrease insomnia

Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of energy healing and self-improvement that can be used on anyone. Reiki treatments are not intended as a substitute for traditional medical or psychological care, but work to compliment other medical or therapeutic techniques to promote well-being.

Reiki is not a religion, nor is it affiliated with any religion. Reiki is spiritual in nature and people of various faiths find it compatible with their religious beliefs. Reiki has principles and symbols that automatically set its healing intent as positive and does not rely on anyone's belief system to work. Reiki will work for your highest good, no belief is even required!
